By Martha A. Wade
Product Description (Poetic):
Inspired by the bold visual storytelling of Queen & Slim, Crown Royal on Chrome is a layered tribute to love, resistance, and legacy. Two figures—etched in wood, cool and connected—sit on the back of a car like royalty on their mobile throne. Behind them: a technicolor dreamscape charged with symbolism, memory, and Black brilliance.
Embedded in the background is a sacred piece of the past—artwork from Martha's father, Eugene “Eda” Wade, titled IMHOTEP Step Pyramid. It’s a foundational image, full of geometry and reverence, and one of her most cherished works of his. By collaging it into her own, Martha bridges generations, placing her story inside his, and theirs inside ours.
The chrome isn’t just a car—it’s movement. The crown isn’t on their heads—it’s in their presence. This piece honors everyday royalty, ancestral guidance, and the kind of love that rides through fire, unapologetically.
Now available as a 12x12" fine art print or in a limited hand-embellished remix on wood.
