Fibonacci Fragility
36 x 36 in | Acrylic on canvas with handmade frame
From The Conversation series

This work is built on repetition, tension, and restraint.

Paint moves in a spiral—layer upon layer of short, deliberate strokes that echo the Fibonacci sequence: growth patterned by nature, beauty shaped by order. Blues, teals, creams, and golds fold into one another, forming a motion that feels both expansive and contained. The eye follows the curve instinctively, pulled inward, then released.

But fragility interrupts the math.

What appears balanced is also vulnerable. The spiral is not perfectly smooth—it flickers, breaks, resists certainty. Each mark is distinct, almost feathered, suggesting that even the most reliable systems are made of individual, delicate parts.

As part of The Conversation series, this piece speaks without figures or language. It holds space for the unsaid—the pauses between statements, the emotions beneath structure. Where other works in the series confront dialogue directly, Fibonacci Fragility considers what happens internally: how order comforts us, and how easily it can unravel.

The handmade frame grounds the motion, giving the work a boundary while allowing the energy to continue beyond the edge. Nothing here is fixed. Everything is in process.

This piece is about balance that must be maintained.
About growth that carries risk.
About the quiet truth that even perfect patterns can break.
